After upgrade to 11.10 I had to apply the fix for the Nvidia HDMI sound out and it worked fine. After that upgrade the other day it stopped working again. Been trying to reapply fixes have reinstalled PulseAudio and nothing. I installed the nightly build of ALSA for Ubuntu last night and the sound seemed to come back to the login screen but I only heard something once. The volume control is still usable on the login screen but cant get it to reproduce any sound. Once logged in I have nothing for sound hardware in the sound settings. ALSA mixer seems to be the same but PulseAudio seems to fail to load daemon. Thanks for the help ill attach the update log file for the past few days.
