duplicate bug #1632772? @Jeremy, that gdm commit suggests it's not a technical reason but that they assume that if wayland is not using in gdm that's because it's not working on the configuration so there is no point listing a session which is not going to work

If I 'dpkg-reconfigure -plow lightdm' and choose 'gdm3', then stop lightdm and start gdm3, then I can login to a wayland gnome3 desktop.
