We should consider changing this behavior, especially on expanded mode, the main reason being it's quite disruptive if you want to download a file and continue to browse. In expanded mode, all of the tabs get obscured by the Downloads header and page and you have to use the back arrow to get back to the tabs. Couple of possible options: 1. In expanded mode, don't switch to page but instead show some sort of download icon while it's in progress, possibly next to the drawer icon or in the tab bar if there is room. Clicking on it would bring you to the downloads page. Note there is already a download indicator in the top system toolbar but it's not super obvious, especially on a large screen. Might be better for app to display it in addition.. 2. Prompt with dialog when downloading, with options to "Automatically show Downloads", "Never show Downloads", "Prompt each time.." or something along those lines To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1534771/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
