steam launcher is suspect (since its the first thing to load), and it
also affects gnome.
as the xserver-xorg-video-intel package team says, its probably
because of a pageflip race condition.. possibly the unity dash teams
fault.
i am willing to provide logs and other details. just ask :)
i am using the amdgpu 1.99 drivers from the oibaf ppa. they work well,
but this dash problem has plagued me over 2 distros and countless
driver versions for over a year! its either steam, wayland or a common
demonator between gnome and unity.
