I installed Marco Trevisan's unity package (https://launchpad.net/~3v1n0/+archive/ubuntu/unity-tests) on Monday, September 8 and I haven't had this issue since. Usually, I have this issue every couple of days so this package seems to correct it. For information, I have a very very very little display bug : after typing my password, when I press enter to unlock, some pixels of the arrow on the right of the password field appears to "flicker" (this is not a problem for me).
