I saw that once, too. It's very unlikely unity8 has to do anything with
that, more like the driver gets in a bad state when it suspends with an
external screen or so. It's as if it has lost synchronization or
something.

Adding Mir as the component closer to the driver/hardware.

  Strange behavior after using desktop mode

Bug description:
  I set the BQ M10 device in Desktop mode yesterday evening.

  After that i used the tablet mode. Then i went to sleep. As i turned
  on my device i got the flickering in the video.

  I restarted the device. The flickering was gone.

  The device is on the image version: r108
