This seems to be a duplicate of #1052936. In any case, I'm seeing this bug too on a fresh Ubuntu 16.04 install. It's even worse in some apps (e.g. System Monitor) where you can select a row with a progress bar. Then the progress bar text will become white, and you have white text on a white background.
