FTR, commit 7b131b5f202b64708497db1feee95e6570dbeed1 [1] was committed on 2013-02-21 and part of the upstream release 5.0.0. Therefore this bug is fixed in Ubuntu 14.10 (utopic) with libdvdnav 5.0.0-1.
