The scope works as well as it can with the information it picks up from the image tags. Note that setting both artist *and* album in the ID3 tags *may* improve accuracy, depending on how 7digital disambiguates the query behind the scenes.
In recent testing, we have not noticed any obvious problems with artist art, so I'm closing this for now. Feel free to re-open if you see this again. But, in that case, we need detailed information, in particular, the *exact* values of the album and artist tags in the affected files. (Best to attach the files rather than transcribing the information. That way, we can analyse the entire set of ID3 tags to figure out what might be happening.) ** Changed in: unity-scope-mediascanner (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity-scope-mediascanner in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1487916 Title: local music scope often shows incorrect artist image Status in unity-scope-mediascanner package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: The local music scope sometimes¹ displays incorrect images for the artist. This probably happens because there are multiple bands with the same (or similar?) names, and there seems to be no check for that, e.g. based on album titles etc. ¹ I first used "often" here, but I guess that really depends on your musical tastes... :) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-scope-mediascanner/+bug/1487916/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
