I have a slimport adaber with a USB-A plug - attaching and detaching that one from the charger or PC does not influence the HDMI output.

But I can't charge my phone and display the screen on the external display at the same time. If I connect the charger the screen switches back to the device, If I disconnect the charger, the screen switches to the external display. It works well with Android.
