Hopefully the thumbnailer bug can be fixed. Commenting on the desire to have dates or filenames - I wouldn't show them by default in the UI. Instead long pressing should take the user into an edit mode, where it's possible to select one or several thumbnails, and perform actions on them (delete etc). We should add "Details" as one of those actions, which would then display a dialog showing more information - things like resolution, duration, file size, and file path.
