An observation: I have two login accounts to the system, both have personalized desktop backgrounds. Normally, the greeter assigns the selected user's desktop background before login.
When logging out now, the login greeter flickers and the default bluish desktop image is shown behind the login dialog, not my normal desktop image. If I log in in this mode, I get the wrong desktop resolution. However, If I in the greeter dialog select the other user the selected user's desktop background returns behind the greeter dialog. If I log in in this state the correct desktop resolution is used. Summary: If I am able to make my own desktop image to show up behind the login greeter dialog by re-browsing the user list, I can log in with the correct screen resolution! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1510281 Title: Screen resolution not saved between sessions Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: After upgrading Ubuntu Studio to 15.10, the desktop screen resolution is not remembered to the next login.
