Revisited this, and after a discussion with Christian we would like to change the text handler visual so that the overlaying keyboard won't obscure it. I have attached a jpeg to illustrate

Sometimes you can can drag it but it's very difficult as it's truncated. The fix should be to place the cursor handles above the text field, not below, if there is not space to draw the handle below.
