Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.
If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: indicator-power (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to indicator-power in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1360820 Title: indicator-power-service crashed with SIGSEGV in strlen() Status in indicator-power package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: on boot ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: indicator-power 12.10.6+14.10.20140822-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-10.15-generic 3.16.1 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-10-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.14.6-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Aug 24 14:44:56 2014 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/indicator-power/indicator-power-service InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-04-23 (122 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140417) ProcCmdline: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/indicator-power/indicator-power-service SegvAnalysis: Segfault happened at: 0x7f75b57b5ada <strlen+42>: movdqu (%rax),%xmm12 PC (0x7f75b57b5ada) ok source "(%rax)" (0x00000001) not located in a known VMA region (needed readable region)! destination "%xmm12" ok Stack memory exhausted (SP below stack segment) SegvReason: reading NULL VMA Signal: 11 SourcePackage: indicator-power StacktraceTop: strlen () at ../sysdeps/x86_64/strlen.S:106 g_strdup () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 ??
