dinamic: unity8.log is showing it has chosen driver "mesa" (which it should not because it should be nested), and it's also showing driver version 0.11.0 which is very old now. So there are at least two obvious issues there.
Please do these: 0. If you can, upgrade the whole system to wily as that is where we are doing development. 1. Update your packages (vivid should have Mir 0.12 at least) 2. Don't start unity8 manually. Instead log out and select it from the regular Ubuntu login screen (unity8-desktop-session-mir adds a new option). 3.
