Hi Open Source Teachers

I co-organize a meetup focusing on tech, the law, and social justice.

On Thurs Feb 18, at 6:30pm, Berkeley Law's Rebecca Wexler will speak on the
relationship between trade secret claims and surveillance tech. This topic
may be of interest to open source practitioners and students.

Rebecca Wexler is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of
California, Berkeley, School of Law, where she teaches, researches, and
writes on issues concerning data, technology, and criminal justice. Her
work has focused on evidence law, criminal procedure, privacy, and
intellectual property protections surrounding new data-driven criminal
justice technologies. She is also a Faculty Co-Director of the Berkeley
Center for Law & Technology.

In this session, we hope to delve deeper into the relationship between
trade secret claims & surveillance tech; where trade secrets appear in
criminal justice technologies; why this is a problem for due process; and
what to do if you encounter trade secrets in a criminal case.
