A shout out to Steve Jacobs, director of Open@RIT, on gaining a $500,000 grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to measure and strengthen support of the faculty and staff who do work in the open community. The effort grew out of work by Steve and Mel Chua into how to strengthen FOSS projects.
