I am working with a class at College of Charleston of South Carolina
and was wondering if there were any bugs or features desired for your
project. We are trying to get our foot in the door in a community, so
that we may be able to contribute.
Hi, Matt -- and welcome! It's great to hear your class is looking to get
started contributing to FOSS. To add to the great questions and
resources Joel and Heidi posted, since it hasn't yet been mentioned on
this thread -- TOS (Teaching Open Source) is a group of people who (like
you) are trying to bridge the worlds of FOSS and the world of the
classroom. Most of us work with one (or more) FOSS projects, but TOS
itself isn't a software project.
We could probably use some infrastructure help, though -- and there's a
textbook that could use editing... and -- well, answering Joel's
questions will likely help us figure out how we can best get you all
started, since it does depend on who you've got and what you're
interested in learning. But welcome, and congratulations on taking the
first step in!
