Hello everyone, I know a few folks saw my earlier notice on identi.ca about this resource, but passing along to the list, as well. Allen Tucker, Ralph Morelli and Trishan de Lanerolle of the Humanitarian FOSS project (http://hfoss.org) have produced a new textbook on teaching software development from an open source perspective. Sample chapters are available free of charge and under a Creative Commons license, as are the accompanying exercises and supporting materials. May be useful to some folks or worth approaching the authors about what materials might be incorporated in other books, etc.
