I have a Windows 2016 Essentials Server that does not appear to have
TortoiseSVN installed, however, it is generating hundreds of .CAB files to the
root of the C:\ drive that are referencing TortoiseSVN. When I open up the .CAB
files, I can see a CONTENTS file that contains the following text:
"[Version]
Major=3.0
Minor=1011
[Contents]
{40BBDA6A-CFC1-4929-9C06-55DF3CCC56AA}=TortoiseSVN 1.8.12 for Windows (See
Notes)
[{40BBDA6A-CFC1-4929-9C06-55DF3CCC56AA}]
{7565CBC8-79A8-499F-84EA-9411E9B1BF4D}=Detect: TortoiseSVN 1.8.12 for Windows
(See Notes)"
I am not sure what is generating these files, as they appear to be attempting
to automatically update, despite the fact that we do not have this application
visibly installed on the server.
The only applications that might have a dependency on an SVN application that I
can see might be our Rental Property Management software, Property Boulevard,
as it uses a SQL database to run, but so far their support agents have been
adamant it isn't an issue with their software.
Has anyone else run into something similar? I'd love to know one way or the
other so I can start figuring out how to troubleshoot it to circumvent it from
continuing.
