Thank you for getting back to me Stefan I had already been to that faq page and tried all the solutions provided. I did try a little experiment in which i installed my repository on a portable usb device to get around our work network backups. I was able to see the icons and complete the tutorial but when i tried the same with the home pc i described previously i was still unable to see ANY icon overlays? could this have something to do with windows defender or webroot software i am running at home? keep in mind webroot is somewhat dormant as i do not have this particular pc connected to the internet at this time. So it is only running a weekly file scan on only files i introduce with portable device? That seems to be the only logical variable in that I downloaded Tortoise svn directly from the website so i should have a clean copy of 1.9.7 Any ideas as to a solution would be GREATLY appreciated!
