Hi everyone, I have been trying to fix some of the issues I have discovered in jwm-settings-manager from testing. I still have one issue that I am getting stumped on. However, I have fixed adding shortcuts so that it works more correctly now. There is a bit to be done to make it smarter... but so far it is working :) Something broke once I figured out the multiple panel stuff... so there are a few bugs hiding around. I also switched things so it presents the user with the /usr/share/applications directory rather than /usr/bin since the programs most people want are desktop file programs.
Anyone who wants fine grained control can setup the icon, tooltip, and executable line themselves, and simply search for whatever program they want... though that will have to be tweaked a bit to make sure things work reliably. But, now the program chooses the icon from the desktop file and adds it. if it is one that does not have an extention, it simply chooses the icon extension that is in the MOST directories in the IconPaths specified. This is similar to the bash script idea to make a smart icon extension choice, though C++ is much different. Eventually I'd like to make something nice and graphical to choose a program, similar to LXDE. But, for now, something that works reliably is better than hand editing XML :P I'll push an update soon, once I have things working and stable -- Regards -Israel ToriOS Team -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~torios Post to : torios@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~torios More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
