Hi Israel, If you want to learn about booting to a text screen, try
http://phillw.net/isos/linux-tools/9w/obi_Trusty-nonpae-txt5-9w.iso or start from the basics with the Ubuntu mini.iso -o- I think you need *not* include plymouth, but if it is there, it will default to text mode.
