When I ran the ToriOS VM, I remembered another alternative OS I tried (I have a VM of it) Kolibri http://kolibrios.org
It is written in Assembly so it is ridiculously fast. Something to think about for anyone testing really OLD machines. The VM is almost instant power on to desktop.
