Generally speaking... There's more big picture for tor, for all overlays... than just as tools to surf the web, lots more you can plug into them than just a downloader, much more to discover than on the surface TV. And with cryptocurrencies being overlay networks themselves, some now riding over I2P / Tor / Etc, and or developing privacy protocols themselves, there is certainly some tech that can be shared and developed and interfaces made between them.
