Hi, the tor exit relay "BSDNow2016" [1] reroutes traffic back into the tor network instead of exiting it. It uses other exits instead of being an actual exit. This allows it to inspect traffic without having to deal with abuse. I've no evidence that this exit actually inspects traffic.
This has been ongoing since the very first day of its operation (2019-02-10) [2]. It got reported on 2019-02-11 and 2019-03-13 to bad-relays@ and two attempts to contact the operator remained with no reply. The risk of your tor client choosing this exit relay is probably low due to its low consensus weight. kind regards, nusenu [1] https://metrics.torproject.org/rs.html#details/471142D96FC7EECA21C55637B2F00F065BEF655F [2] https://lists.riseup.net/www/arc/ornetradar/2019-02/msg00051.html -- https://twitter.com/nusenu_ https://mastodon.social/@nusenu
