Similar had occurred to me, observing both modern peer-to-peer torrent transactions (and wondering how they might be adapted to a group communication system) and of course IRC, with its single channels hosted in sync across global servers. You seem to be describing something like IRC, in slow-time, through Tor servers, correct?
