I think there is one more intriguing possibility for improving receive capability, Jim. That is the horizontal Waller flag antenna (HWF) that N4IS is often touting. That is on my bucket list to try, but I probably won't get around to it before I retire. Of course, one of the curses of improving receive is that you end up hearing even more stations that can't hear you 🙁. Option (B), switching to FT8, helps with that. In Feb 2019, XX9D was very loud here in southern California on 160 CW (literally armchair speaker copy). They simply couldn't hear me through all their local QRN. I had to settle for an FT8 contact. A CW contact would have required option (A), higher EIRP, which if done passively via higher TX antenna gain, is anything but a passive undertaking.

The only options I see here are:
(A) increase TX power....... " ant's by Eimac"
(B) FT-8
(C) Remote receivers.
(D) throw in the towel
