Have you compared receiving on 160 meters using the antenna in 80 meter dipole configuration vs in 160 meter vertical configuration? I suspect it would make a nice RX antenna. If possible, use common node chokes on the feedline. If this is successful, install a TR relay system to switch configurations so you listen on the dipole and transmit on the vertical.
