Not cheap but placing a heavy duty rope at about 12' can be a good shock
absorber but the fact is that WD-11A is still fragile. It took me a few
years to let Mother Nature drop most of the dead wood to the point breakage
is maybe once a year for 5 2 wire Beverages which all run thru dense woods.
The breakage exceptions are those brutal storms that drop 80' pine trees or
a huge oak limb.

I have 4 dual-wires, and just recently tried some WD1A military surplus
telephone wire, and it works.
I was using 12" spaced aluminum fence wire with great success, but the
fallen limbs and small trees
are a maintenance nightmare.
