Hi, even i faced the same problem, but i was on windows. I dont think that should matter much. Check the log files, for any errors which might have been while starting tomcat. In my case, i was gettting error in JDBC Realm, driver not found. After i fixed the problem, the manager was accepting password. Hope this helps.

I've got a standalone tomcat 4.0.1 install on a redhat. I've got the standard memory realm configured, and i've been changing the tomcat-users.xml file to create a user with "manager" role. Despite hundred tomcat restarts, copies of examples from many faq, the server still rejects each and every account i create. Help.. i really don't understand what's happening. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
