http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=34873 ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-05-13 21:09 ------- > This works for me. Please give (a lot) more details, or post to tomcat-user. I thought I was clear earlier. I will try to be clearer this time. I installed Tomcat 5.5.9 on my Win2k machine, going through the installation steps with the default configurations, and finishing it to start the service by default. The default installation directory is .....\Tomcat 5.5.9, with a white-space in between. The server did not come up successfully, but I do not have the statements from err.log. After a lot of googling, a forum mentioned that this was a known bug in Tomcat, and recommended me to install in another directory without whitespaces. I did, and e/thing works sweet. I have to mention here that, I do not know that the whitespace is causing the problem, but that is the only variable that changed in the 2 installations, and the 2nd time it worked.
