HttpSession objects are properly expired and lifecycled by Tomcat: this has
been confirmed for all the stable releases both internally and independently.

The stack trace you posted may have multiple causes. Since Bugzilla is not a
discussion forum, please use the tomcat-user mailing list to solicit advice
about this stack trace and related debugging procedures.

Alternatively, attach to this issue a WAR we can use to reproduce your
problem. Then we can try to debug it further ourselves and hopefully resolve
the issue, if one exists in the first place.
