Apache 2.1/2.2 has mod_proxy_ajp with the active development, and surprisingly stable :).
Great, but without a release, it's a bit useless :(
Yes. Now that 2.0.53 is released, the people will have more time to work on 2.1.3 release I hope. But that's solely dependable on httpd developers :).
