I'd like to backport the service.bat to 5_0 branch. Not sure what's the agreement on backporting, but I suppose it's RTC. It has resolved JAVA_HOME and tools.jar issues that many users complain about, as well as using jvm.dll from JAVA_HOME environment variable.
You will also need to use the current tomcat5.exe and tomcat5w.exe binaries from j-t-c/procrun when rolling the release.
I'm not sure what "RTC" means?
Review Then Commit.
Now that we've separated the TOMCAT_5_0 and CVS HEAD branches, when I
cut the release I do a checkout specifying the TOMCAT_5_0 CVS branch.
Other than that everything else is the same as before.
Ok, I was thinking that the backporting needs the review and voting before commiting.
Will it pick up the procrun binaries automatically? Do I have to do something special? Or do you have to build then and check them into the TOMCAT_5_0 branch? A merge instead of a rebuild maybe?
No, the jkarta-tomcat-5/build.xml has a reference to them. I said that just in case you are building from your own local repository.
