This is the line (from tomcat 5.0.12): "Install the manager.xml context configuration file in the appBase for your Host." Your question "where did I find ....?" therefore indicates that we are either talking about different documentation or interpreting the documentation completely differently. I am not entering bugs in bugzilla for fun or as a means of getting support. I have already raised this issue on the tomcat-user list: http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg106090.html and was therefore fairly certain that this is an issue. Please would you provide some more indication as to why this is not an issue, or otherwise re-open this. Further explanation will ultimately be of benefit to you as well, since others facing the same situation as myself may well then read it here and learn from it, rather than opening another bug or generating more traffic on the lists.
