Bonjour, To be able to launch multiple Tomcat instance in one server (PC), we have the "$$CATALINA_BASE" variable which makes possible to define several environment of execution using only one tomcat installation (eg. C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1).
This capability has a limit: there is only one shared folder! so, it is not possible to have as versions of shared classes as instance of Tomcat. Coult it be be possible to make evolve the "Shared classLoader" so that it uses "$$CATALINA_BASE/shared/classes" and "$$CATALINA_BASE/shared/lib/*.jar" rather than "$$CATALINA_HOME/shared/classes" and "$$CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib/*.jar". So the WebApps will have the persperctive : - /WEB-INF/classes of your web application - /WEB-INF/lib/*.jar of your web application - Bootstrap classes of your JVM - System class loader classses (described above) - $CATALINA_HOME/common/classes - $CATALINA_HOME/common/endorsed/*.jar - $CATALINA_HOME/common/lib/*.jar - $CATALINA_BASE/shared/classes - $CATALINA_BASE/shared/lib/*.jar note Thanks in advance.
