Howdy, I'll see if I can get around do it. FWIW, I've been profiling our app on every tomcat version since 4.0.4 (all -LE-jdk14, all running on Solaris 8), and the tomcat classes certainly have gone down as far as CPU time and memory requirements. Unfortunately I didn't record their improvement in a meaningful way, but I'll keep that in mind for the future. I've been using OptimizeIt as well. So while this isn't a direct response to your request / confirmation of your work, it is anecdotal evidence...
