http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8013 DefaultServlet Throws NumberFormatException ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2002-06-06 17:50 ------- The bug occurred on 4.0.1. I haven't seen it yet on 4.0.3, but I have limited access to the HP-UX box it occurred on, and besides, I can see that the offending code is the same. This happens during startup of a large JBoss/Tomcat server app, so there's no test case we can provide short of the entire product (and I can't do that :-( -- what I can tell you is that it is quite probable that there was an applet making HTTP requests during the startup process) But the real point here is that DefaultServlet allows concurrent access to its SimpleDateFormat objects, and it shouldn't (see http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html, under the heading of "Synchronization"). The formatting needs to be properly synchronized. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
