The first beta of Coyote 1.0 is now available, and includes: - A high performance HTTP/1.1 connector - An adapter for Tomcat 4.0.x (an adapter for Tomcat 3 is in development, and should be available in Beta 2)
Binaries can be downloaded at: http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-connectors/coyote/release/v1 .0-b1/ The new HTTP/1.1 connector has been rewritten from scratch for performance, robustness and better design, and fixes many problems that have been found in the default Tomcat 4 HTTP/1.1 connector over the past 6 months. It may be chosen as the default connector on future Tomcat 4 releases, although no decision has been made on this at the moment. The adapter for Tomcat 4 can be used with all releases from the 4.0.x branch, including 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 Beta 1. Coyote is also included in the Tomcat 4 nightly binary distribution. Feedback on this new connector is important, and getting extensive testing is even more. A 'Coyote HTTP/1.1 Connector' component for Tomcat 4 exists in Bugzilla to report bugs against this connector.
