I was over on the Postgres site tonight (www.postgresql.org) when I noticed a rather large advocacy image/pseudo-ad for Tomcat, right on the main page. I clicked on it, at which point I was presented with a PHP scripting error. LOL! In bringing it to the webmaster's attention, I had to point out the irony of that. That's probably a better advertisement for Tomcat than whatever the ad actually pointed to =) Seriously, though, I've noticed several Tomcat logos and such on the Postgres site in the past. As a longtime user and advocate of postgres (since before I started using JServ, even :), it's nice to see a fellow OSS project, and that one in particular, giving us props. About a week ago, I was going to add an example JDBC configuration to server.xml for postgres, since there's one in there for mySQL (grrrr :-) ... I think seeing that big Tomcat logo on their main site pretty much pushed me over the edge, and I'm going to commit it now. Also, if we are running postgres on the Jakarta servers, I think it would be a nice gesture to throw up a cute little elephant link over to them in appreciation. And if we are instead running mySQL ... grrrrr =) - Christopher /** * Pleurez, pleurez, mes yeux, et fondez vous en eau! * La moitié de ma vie a mis l'autre au tombeau. * ---Corneille */
