agreed with resolution...
I've pumped up the checkInterval to 4 min for StandardManager, and found it
takes an extra 3 mins to shutdown -- evidently stopThread's thread.interrupt()
isn't working properly in the IBM JDK and so it waits until the end of the
sleep..! This is with no sessions at all, shutdown straight after startup...
Ouch.
