What is *noarch*, exactly.. I installed this one because at the time it was
the only RPM I could find.... but am I missing out?

Apache rpms are allways available at :

ftp://ftp.falsehope.com/home/gomez/xerces-j/
ftp://ftp.falsehope.com/home/gomez/xalan-j/
ftp://ftp.falsehope.com/home/gomez/tomcat/

Warning if you use also xalan-j 2.1.0 since this
one will failed to use xerces.jar if you have jaxp.jar
and parser.jar in THE SAME DIRECTORY THAT xalan.jar.....

I make a bug report on xalan list :)
