It's hard to argue against "more fixes = better software".

I submitted a very simple patch last week, and I haven't heard from
anyone about it.  It seems to me that "outsiders" (non-committers)
can't get anything into CVS because the committers are not looking at
the patches, for whatever reasons.

Or maybe it's because there are problems with the patches?  Even if
that's the case, a response would still be appreciated.  Otherwise,
what encouragement is there for future submissions?
