Craig,
In support of this, to make deployments more flexible,
we added the configuration properties :
-Dorg.apache.tomcat.apps.classpath and
-Dorg.apache.tomcat.common.classpath to Tomcat 3.3
which seems to help quite a bit at managing the
distinctions between the class loading spaces. Is
there any chance someone working on TC 4.0 could add
support for those properties as well so we have
continuity in deployment configuration support? I'd
be glad to do it, but I am currently not setup to work
on or test tc4.0 yet and due to That Damn Day Job(tm),
I'm not likely to get a chance to do so for a while
(working on TC 3.3 is easier because it is part of our
delivered solution).
The code to support these properties is entirely
inside org.apache.tomcat.startup.Main in tc3.3, and
probably could be ported to tc4.0 relatively easily.
If no one else can do it, I'll go ahead, but I've got
a pretty full plate and it probably won't get done for
at least a week or two.
Cheers,
