I succeeded to use ssl with tomcat 4.0-m5 on Windows 98.
What you need to do is just to follow the instruction
in the comment of "conf/server.xml" file.
I think that on linux, the thing is same.

i'm trying to use ssl direct with tomcat on linux machine, following the
detailed how-to lists i don't succeded to conclude the certification. If
i not varing the provider2 voice i conclude the certification but when i
open the hppts page on 8443 port on my tomcat machine retur error
"unrecognized ssl handshake"
