First, Happy New Year to all of you !
Most of the work I started on TC3.x is completed ( in the previous
century ). There are still few items ( mostly performance-related, not
critical - the performance is already much better than 3.2 ).
This year I'll focus on fixing TC3.x - the current code passes the
watchdog, and I'll start reviewing all new BugTraq reports and merge
the remaining changes from 3.2. I'll also start adding new tests to the
internal test suite - as I fix bugs - to make sure the bugs will remain
fixed in future.
I don't know what will be the name and release mechanism - and it's not
my problem anyway. I just know that the code and design are clean and
flexible - I think it's one of the best containers today, and better than
what we had before.
If you want to help me, please take a look, review and send feedback - the
code still needs work before it should be used in production mode ( under
any name ). There are many details that should be reviewed, still some
garbage from the past, and a lot of work on adding (independent) modules
and features, after the code is freezed.
I hope our ( those who contributed time to tomcat3 ) work on tomcat helps
