Synopsis: 
mod_jk is garbled

Description:
After successful compilation of mod_jk, using the supplied
Makefile.linux, and after having copied the mod_jk.so file
to apaches libexec directory, I get the following error
message when starting apache 

Syntax error on line 8 of /home/ar/projekte/br-2/tomcat/conf/mod_jk.conf-auto:
API module structure `jk_module' in file /home/ar/projekte/br-2/libexec/mod_jk.so is 
garbled - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO?
./bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

Line 8 of mod_jk.conf.auto looks like this

8: LoadModule jk_module libexec/mod_jk.so
