This may be operator error, but I did follow the README directions
and built tomcat without a hitch. However, when running the tip 3.3
development version, I'm finding that JSP pages aren't being reliably
run on first request. The numguess.jsp example never shows up at all,
but a second request does work. I'm running on Mac OS X public beta,
which includes a Java2 implementation (java version "1.2.2", Java
HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.3.0, mixed mode, internal release build)).

Setting TOMCAT_HOME explicitly may have made a difference, as it
seems to load pages more reliably with an absolute path.

The 3.1 distribution works great right out of the box.
