Looking at these snippets I'd say there was something wrong with clamd Ensure that /usr/local/share/clamav and below are set to clamav.clamav assuming clamd is running under daemontools Check the clamd logs stop the clamd service, svc -d /service/clamd check that there is no existing pidfile, /var/run/clamd/clamd.pid (if you have that set in clamav.conf) Start the service svc -u /service/clamd Check the clamd logs again Check the smtpd logs too and it won't hurt to restart that too Run freshclam and look at the ouput in freshclam.log, is it reloading clamd?
